Keto whipped coffee is raging though the Keto scene for good reason.
It’s gorgeous, the taste is divine and it makes us feel just a little bit pampered in a really uncertain time. You might have seen it on Tik-Tok, Instagram or Twitter a million times already.
It’s a huge food trend in recent months and I just had to see what the fuss was about. It is so worth the little bit of effort.
Make a cup of this beautiful coffee in a just a few minutes and let it carry you away to a simpler time.
Dalgona coffee or whipped and beaten coffee is a topic on everyone’s feed these days. If you want to see where it came from check out this post after you make your own…
The Keto Whipped Coffee Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp Instant coffee
A word about this ingredient…yes, instant coffee is what is traditionally used.
You cannot just grind up coffee beans and it use those. Your coffee will be bitter and the beans will not dissolve.
They will sink to the bottom of your drink like dirt.
I suppose you could use strong brewed coffee in a pinch but I haven’t tried it. ( I actually had to break into our camping supplies to get the instant coffee out.)
Also, this is a sneaky place for carbs to hang out. Make sure you read the label. We like this one.
- 2 tbsp Allulose or sweetener of choice
When you finish making your coffee you can always add more sweetener if you like.
- 2 tbsp Boiling water
- 2 tbsp Heavy cream *optional but really fluffs it up.
Traditionally the coffee, water and sweetener only is whipped. But the cream really amps up the fluffiness.
- 1 cup Unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk
I always have unsweetened almond milk on hand but you can use whatever you like. Most coconut milk is higher in carbs so keep that in mind.
However, this is pretty low in carbs so I think a cup of coconut milk would be fine too.
Instructions to Make the Keto Whipped Coffee:
- Combine the instant coffee, sweetener, and boiling water in a glass and stir until the instant coffee and sweetener is dissolved. Then add the heavy cream if using.
Don’t add the cream until after the coffee is dissolved.
- Whip the coffee with the frother until fluffy. It takes about two minutes if you use an electric frother but it isn’t necessary.
You can whip the coffee by hand but it will take some elbow grease.
You can always do this in the small cup of a blender like this. But I would probably double the recipe because the blades wont reach a single serving.
By the way, that blender is under $50.00 and I’ve had mine for well over FIVE years. It has taken some major beatings and not always been used according to it’s directions…it just keeps going.
- Pour the almond milk into a 12-oz mug or glass. Scoop the whipped coffee over the almond milk. It looks gorgeous like this.
- Snap a photo and give it a stir to combine. Enjoy!
It looks prettiest just after you scoop the whipped coffee on top of the milk but it tastes better once you give it a brisk stir.
I hope you enjoy this Keto Whipped Coffee as much as I did! It was fun to make too!
