This Keto Peanut Butter Frosting recipe is the BOMB! I especially like it with chocolate cupcakes but it’s great no matter how you choose to use it.

It’s a slightly sweet, cream cheese based recipe that takes cream cheese frosting to a new level of deliciousness.

🥘Ingredients:

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Softened

I never remember to leave cream cheese out to soften. You can pop it into the microwave for 30 seconds to warm it up slightly. Don’t overdo it.

Use vegan creamed cheese for a dairy free option. There’s a recipe for AWESOME vegan cream cheese right here.

This Keto Peanut Butter is awesome and contains MCT oil for energy. Any sugar free peanut butter will work though.

  • 2/3 cup Powdered Monkfruit Blend * to taste

One the flavors meld for a bit the Keto peanut Butter frosting will taste sweeter. But if you are not yet Keto adapted you might like it sweeter than we do.

Use any sweetener you like but you should check out this post if you have questions about the safety of low carb sweeteners.

  • 1/2 cup Heavy Whipping Cream

You can use coconut cream if you don’t want to use dairy products.

Vanilla is  the perfect flavor “layer” in this cream cheese frosting recipe.

👩🏽‍🍳  How to make the  peanut butter cream cheese frosting:

  • In a large mixing bowl combine peanut butter, cream cheese and powdered sweetener of choice.

If you have been storing your peanut butter in the fridge, you can warm it slightly to make it easier to mix.

If you use granular sweetener your cream cheese frosting will be grainy. You can always powder the granular stuff in your blender if you don’t have separate “powdered” sweetener.

I do this with allulose. It saves on pantry space and allows me to buy in bulk and use it how I choose.

The blender I have has different sized cups to make this easy. Plus, all of the parts are dishwasher safe (this wins every-time in my book).

Start slow so that your cream cheese frosting doesn’t splatter.

  • Whip on high until frosting is smooth and fluffy.

Once the Keto Peanut Butter frosting is combined you’ll need to whip it up on high to get it nice and fluffy.

  • Frost your favorite low carb cakes or cupcakes. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for one week.

📋 Food Safety & Storage:

  • The Keto peanut butter cream cheese frosting should be kept chilled in an airtight container.
  • You can adjust the recipe and servings by using the servings adjustment slider in the recipe card if you won’t use it within the week ( I can’t imagine this scenario).
  • This frosting doesn’t freeze well.
  • Sugar free chocolate sauce makes a beautiful and delicious presentation when drizzled over this frosting.
  • Cocoa powder sprinkled on top of the cream cheese frosting is another presentation idea if you are making cupcakes for guests.
