The icy Keto Almond Joy Iced Mocha is just what it sounds like…

It’s a creamy shake with all of the flavors of the Almond Joy you loved Pre-Keto.

Dark chocolate, coconut and almonds with a coffee kick is perfect for those afternoon energy slumps and will satisfy those chocolate cravings too.

The Keto Almond Joy Iced Mocha Ingredients:

If you have chocolate almond milk skip the cocoa powder unless you want a really dark chocolate drink.

  • 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Coconut Chips or Flakes

You can use full fat coconut cream if you have it but it does raise the carb count a bit. The coconut flakes also make this drink a little thicker and they give the “mouthfeel” of a thick milk shake.

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened almond butter creamy
  • 2 tsp instant espresso powder

You can use plain black coffee if you don’t have espresso powder.

If you decide to do this, exchange it with equal amounts of almond milk to keep the shake thick.

You can use more or less of this ingredient depending on how dark you like your chocolate.

Less is more with vanilla extract in creations that you won’t be baking or cooking. If you add too much it will end up tasting boozy because the alcohol won’t “cook” out like it does in baked goods.

*Exception ~ If you want it to taste boozy, add some whisky.

This ingredient is also considered “to taste”.  I think this is the perfect amount of sweetener for this drink but since you are making YOUR drink…add as much as you like.

  • 5-6 ice cubes

Optional Toppings for the Keto Almond Joy Iced Mocha:

  • Whipped Cream

Homemade whipped cream makes this drink feel special. You can find the super duper easy recipe here.

This chocolate syrup is AMAZING and won’t kick you out of Ketosis. It’s not meant for everyday use but it’s an AWESOME treat and is sweetened with monkfruit.

Instructions to Make the Keto Almond Joy Iced Mocha:

Making a low carb treat really doesn’t get much easier than the Keto Almond Joy Iced mocha…

  • For a blended frappe sort of drink combine all ingredients and blitz until smooth and fluffy.
  • For on the rocks ~ blitz all ingredients but the ice. Pour into tall glasses over ice cubes.
  • Top with whipped cream and sugar free chocolate syrup if desired.

This step isn’t necessary but it makes it feel like a special treat from your favorite coffee shop. It’s important to be nice to ourselves.

If you don’t have any low carb chocolate syrup on hand and still want to try it you could always make your own. All Day I Dream of Food has an excellent, easy to follow recipe for homemade chocolate syrup.
