  • Salt + pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 lime *juiced

  • 4 cod fillets (About one pound) * Skinless – any white fish like Mahi Mahi, tilapia, etc. Diced into bite sized pieces.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin

Green onions are a must at our house. They have less carbs than any other type of onion and they are the traditional taco choice.

👩‍🍳How to make the Keto Fish Tacos:

  • Put all of the salsa ingredients into a blender and pulse until smooth. Chill until your tacos are ready. This sauce can last in an airtight container for up to 5-6 days.
  • Dice fish fillets. In a bowl, add the fish and spices. Stir to coat evenly.

Air Fryer Method

  • Pre-heat air fryer to 400°F or 204°C and set for 8 minutes. Lightly spritz fish with olive oil. Stir fish halfway through to cook evenly. The fish should be opaque and lightly browned in some places.

Frying Pan Method

  • Fry on medium/high with a dollop of oil oil for 6-8 minutes or until opaque and easily flakes with a fork.

Serving

  • Serve with avocado salsa, and your choice of toppings such as warm low carb tortillas, lettuce leaves or in a taco bowl.

🍽️Equipment:

  • Air Fryer

Last Summer I bought one of the combination Air Fryer / Pressure Cooker / do everything but the grocery shopping appliances and have never looked back.

I’m sure there are a lot of good air fryers out there but this is the one that has taken my abuse with zero backtalk for the last year.

📋Tips & FAQ’s:

What kind of fish can I use if I don’t have cod?

You can use any white fish that your lil ole heart desires. The beauty of this recipe is in the spices. They’ll go great with any firm, white fish (Mahi Mahi, Halibut, Tilapia).

How long does the Fish Taco Recipe keep in the fridge?

I never keep fish more than 24-48 hours max. But the salsa will last for 5-6 days if you don’t finish it.

What should I serve with the Fish tacos?

You mean besides the usual taco toppings?

That’s all for the Low Carb Fish Tacos!

Didn’t I say these were an easy win?

Sometimes with the Low Carb WOE we get all caught up in making complicated recipes to take out minds off of the fact that we can’t have this or that. Wouldn’t it be better if we could just remember how MUCH is STILL on the table?

This isn’t complicated nor does it take expensive, hard to find ingredients. It’s just good food that happens to be right up our low carb alley.

(Unless you count the low carb tortillas. But even my tiny store in the sticks has those these days.)

Notes

The nutrition values for this recipe were calculated using making 4 servings of the avocado salsa and the fish.
The addition of other toppings or low carb tortillas was not calculated because my wizard hat is in the shop for repairs and I’m not sure what you like on your tacos. Cheers!
