Meal Planning is Important on the Keto Diet...
We have more interests than just Keto. And we like to hang out in the beautiful mountains that we call home and travel.
Both of us learned early on in our Keto Journey that is we didn't plan meals, we ended up on a roller-coaster of healthy eating and then binging on high carb foods.
Planning is the single most important factor of being successful on the Keto Diet. It gets easier as you start to make the Keto Lifestyle a habit too.
We plan ahead so that we can spend more time exploring places like this....
Tips for making Keto Cheeseburger Soup in 30 Minutes....
This is a super simple recipe and the whole family will love it whether they have gone Keto or not. You'll love it because you won't have to spend a ton of time in a hot kitchen after working all day.
I doubled the recipe that is stated in the recipe card because I knew that heating up a bowls of this soup for lunch was going to be a quick and easy solution for the afternoon meal when I am busy.
- Decide on your toppings before you start preparing the soup.
Then you can dice your toppings while the meat browns. This is a huge time-saver.
I chose tomatoes, pickles, olives, shredded cheese and green onions.
Crispy Bacon, avocado and chopped lettuce were my choices for the next days lunch to switch it up and keep it interesting.
- Add heavy whipping cream if you want to add more fat.
Everyone macros are different. If you need to add more fat to your Keto Diet than adding a bit of heavy cram at the end of the cooking time will help. It makes this soup creamy and delicious.
Avocado works like a charm to add additional fat.
Don't you just hate it when you start out making soup and your stock pot isn't large enough to add all of your ingredients and still stir it without making a huge mess?
I don't have time to clean up a burnt soup overflow so I always use a larger pot than I think I'll need. Then, if inspiration strikes and I want to add more ingredients, I can do it without making a mess.
Also, it's stainless steel. We gave up non-stick coatings a long time ago because of the nasty chemicals in them. This one is great (and priced right).
- If you want to keep this soup ultra low carb than use green onions as a topping.
Green onions and chives are much lower carb than any other variety. A nice person from our Facebook Group pointed this out a while ago and I have since quit adding onions to MOST of my soups.
Topping any soup or chili recipe with green onions and chives gives me the flavor I love without all of the carbs.
- I made this low carb high fiber bread to go with this soup and it was a fantastic meal.
This bread has a lot of flavor and has a ton of fiber to keep your belly happy. It goes perfectly with this soup and adds the "bun" element as well.
It's hard to overeat when you have two such filling components in your dinner meal. If you make these tow together that you are sure to stay on track with your daily macros and keep your gut happy and healthy.
