Hot, flavorful and rich sauce for discerning beef lovers. Au Jus is naturally low carb but most recipes call for a tad of regular flour to thicken it up ever so slightly. This is fine and fits into most peoples macros but many gluten free Au Jus lovers are left out.This simple recipe can be used for Au Jus for Prime Rib, Roast Beef or French Dip Sandwiches alike, all well staying low carb.
⅓CupBeef Fat Drippings* From Prime Rib or Roast Beef
¼tspxanthan gum* be careful with this ingredient. If you use too much it will come out like jello.
3cupsbeef broth* or 3 cups water and 6 tsp beef bouillion.
salt*to taste
black pepper*to taste
Instructions
Pour all of the ingredients into a sauce pan and whisk until combined before turning on the heat.
Turn on heat to Medium/High and continue whisking until simmering and slightly thickened and uniform (5-10 minutes). This Au Jus sauce will not be thick like gravy. The xanthan gum is only used to help combine the fats and spices.
Serve with your choice of meals. This is perfect with Prime Rib, French Dip or Roast Beef.
