In a small mixing bowl, mix the egg, hotsauce if using, almond flour and cheese.
Use the olive oil to thoroughly grease the waffle iron.
Pour the batter in the center of the waffle iron and spread it evenly towards the edges.
Before closing the waffle iron, thoroughly re grease the top of the iron.
Close the waffle iron and wait. These take quite a bit longer to cook than regular waffles, so when the light goes on indicating that they are done, wait another 2 minutes before opening.
Wait 2 minutes more minutes after the light goes on to remove and enjoy.
