Hot Chocolate is one of the most nostalgic tastes imaginable. Running into the house from playing in the snow, and Mom having a big pot of it ready. It warmed our fingers and hearts.
Put everything but the cream and vanilla in a large saucepan over medium-low heat.
Stir constantly for 5-10 minutes - do not boil
When it is hot (just before boiling) stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract.
Note: I like my hot chocolate a little less sweet so I usually add some extra cocoa powder. It is easy to tweak this recipe and make it sweet as you like.
